The 12th TSESI Grand Round featured distinguished experts in the field of otolaryngology, focusing on the critical role of the Eustachian tube in middle ear health and disease management. Dr. Muaaz Tarabichi, in his keynote presentation, emphasized the pivotal function of the eustachian tube in maintaining middle ear pressure balance and preventing pathologies such as otitis media. His lecture underscored the complexities of eustachian tube dysfunction and its implications for clinical practice.
Dr. Holger Sudhoff, discussed the significance of comprehensive assessment techniques in the diagnosis and management of chronic middle ear infections. Dr. Sudhoff’s insights highlighted the need for a multidisciplinary approach to evaluate eustachian tube dysfunction in patients with persistent otologic conditions.
Dr. Dennis Poe shared valuable expertise on the importance of pre-surgical assessment of eustachian tube function, specifically before balloon dilation procedures. He stressed on how proper assessment can influence surgical outcomes and improve the efficacy of interventions in patients with chronic Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Together the three, also introduced the "1st World Congress on Eustachian Tube Research and Interventions" to be held in Dubai on 11-13 April 2025.
