SOFIE’S STORY: BILATERAL COCHLEAR IMPLANT SURGERY

Ellie Sofia Palma has undergone bilateral cochlear implant surgeries. Her initial cochlear implant procedure was conducted by Dr. Muaaz Tarabichi in Dubai when she was just over a year old. Subsequently, she has her second cochlear implant surgery performed by Dr. Mondy Hammad in Abu Dhabi at 3 years old.

Today, Sofia has made remarkable progress in her journey of auditory development. She is actively learning to read, can articulate words with clarity, and is leading a life that is increasingly resembling that of her peers. Despite her early challenges with hearing, Sofia's cochlear implants have enabled her to engage more fully in the world around her, allowing her to communicate effectively and participate in everyday activities.
